A Trio of Medals at the 2022 Australian Gin Awards

On the 19th September 2022 the winners of the Australian Gin Association’s annual Australian Gin Awards (AGAs) event were announced. Now in its 5th year the 2022 AGAs aim to shine a light on the excellence of gin production in Australian and New Zealand.
 
This year saw 475 entries across six categories with the judges noting that,
“... the standard of gin production this year was noticeably higher than 2021.”
 
Entries are scrutinised by a seasoned judging panel made up from Australia’s foremost gin authorities; including, Mikey Enirght, the Association’s Chairman and Co-founder and Director of the Barrelhouse Group.
Newy Distillery took three medals; one gold and two bronze.

A gold medal was awarded to our distinguished Dry Gin, the second year in row that it has received a gold at the AGAs! The judges commented,
“Well balanced, great flavours”. 
Newy Distillery Passionfruit Gin Australian Gin Awards Bronze Medal Winner 2022
Our Passionfruit Gin proved to be as popular as ever, receiving a bronze medal;
Newy Distillery Mulled Wine Gin Australian Gin Awards Bronze Medal Winner 2022
and our Mulled Wine Gin, also made an impression in the new Traditional Liqueurs and Flavoured Gin category, also being awarded a bronze medal.
Newy Distillery owners Luke and Kimberly Storey commented on the results,
“ We’re really proud to receive these awards form the Australian Gin Association. The AGA is so well respected in the industry; to receive these medals from them is great honour, and a testament to the quality of our gin.”

Newy Distillery's Chief Distiller Alex O’Brien was also thrilled to receive the awards for his latest creations stating;

“ Our Dry Gin is a proven favourite and has won several awards, so to see it win a medal again at the Australian Gin Awards is rewarding to see that it still holds its own against some big players. I’m also thrilled to see some of our newer, and more unique flavours, like the Mulled Wine Gin, obtain recognition from the AGA - we’re definitely heading in the right direction. “
